The Super Talented Ciara Gold

Welcome Ciara, and thank you for submitting yourself. (Anybody know where the handcuffs went?). Just kidding. Tell us about yourself.
Hmmm, handcuffs, eh? You already have me blushing. But thank you so much for letting me be your guest. So who am I really? I’m a native Texan with the twang to prove it. I consider myself well rounded (in more ways than one) with an interest in dance, music, visual arts, sailing, camping, sewing, gardening, and of course, writing. I am also blessed with two wonderful children. Ah, the teenage years. There is never a dull moment at our house.

I am not looking forward to my kids teen years. Aside from the volatile emotions, it means they’re growing up. :( You’ve got quite a few books under you belt. Which is your favorite?

My favorite is the one that keeps me up at night or rather the one I’m working on right now. Hubby laughs. I never have to worry about another woman with him because his boat is the other woman. And of course, he never worries about me, because my other men are all in my dreams. I do have a deep fondness for the first book I wrote, Sarah’s Brass Token.

Here’s the question I love most. What is the embarrassing scene you ever wrote, the one that made you blush and squirm, but that just had to be included.

I had a scene in Eliza’s Copper Penny that I had to rewrite 6 times. He’s wounded and bedridden. To make him comfortable, she offers to give him a sponge bath. He baits her, amused of course. She’s a spinster and has a lot of bottled up mothering instincts, so when she tries to put baby powder on him, (you can see where this is going and of course my telling of it, doesn’t do the scene justice) he comes unglued.

What’s the nicest review you ever got?

Trevas from eBookGuru.org blew me away with his glowing review. Here’s a snippet; I’ve read and reviewed some books from big name authors in the past couple months. If you read through my reviews, I’ve posted my thoughts on books from the likes of Terry Brooks, George R.R. Martin, and Mercedes Lackey. Here’s the thing though – Ciara Gold’s Celestial Dragon blows all of them away as far as reading enjoyment is concerned.

You must be working on something new, do tell.

I am elated to report that I just finished the sequel to On the Silver Edge of Time. I made a goal to do so before school started and I went back to work on August 14. I confess I had to have the weekend, but I was determined. I still have to polish so if you see me out and about with tarnished fingers, you’ll know why. But man, Torin, the hero literally kept me awake nights. For those that haven’t read On the Silver Edge of Time, it’s a Viking Time travel.

Now for the dream part of the interview. When you get rich and famous, where will you vacation for six months being served hand and foot?

A castle somewhere near Waterford, Ireland. I did a wee bit of research last night on the area for my book and instantly fell in love. I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland.

When you walk into a bakery, what concoction makes you slobber on the display case and fork out way too much money for blissful, oral enjoyment?

Chocolate silk pie. I love, crave anything with chocolate and I especially love chocolate with a creamy texture. Okay, mouth is watering now. Might need to make a midnight run.

I ask everyone this, because I like to know what turns you on?
A)Husband taking off his shirt
B)Husband doing the housework.
C)Husband taking off with the kids for the day
D) Curling up with a hot book ;P

It’s a tie between A and D. I’m lucky because he does about 50% of the housework or more, but I love watching him work in the garage. He has a way of making the most ratty jeans look sexy. And of course, curling up with the right romance is always a nice way to get the imagination revved up.

And finally, if you had a super fan standing in front of you right now, clutching their e-reader loaded with your book, eyes shining bright, what would you say to them?

“Oh my gosh, is that a Ciara Gold you’re reading? Which one is your fave? Really? If I could make it happen, would you like to meet her?” Actually, I’d be saying all that in my head, but in reality, I’d be very subtle about it. LOL.

Who’s it gonna be?

Big Brother is now down to 4 and at this point I think I’m gunning for Lane to win even though Brittany did more to get where she is. My problem with Britt though is how mean she’s been about some contestants. Some of her insults really crossed the line and were really not necessary as well as unspeakably nasty. And she’s still throwing them around. Has she not realized the people she’s bad mouthing are the jury who’s gonna decide who gets the half million?

As for Hayden and Enzo… Hayden needs a haircut. Sorry, but he’s looking more and more like cousin It. I know he’s won HOH twice, but his gameplay has been lacklustre. Enzo has talked alot but really, what has he done other than meow? Lane actually only recently started to play, but the way he actually managed to bring two separate alliances with him to the final four is smooth. He slid that one under everyones radar and stands the best chance of making it to final two.

Now if Brit wins HOH, Lane is guaranteed. If Enzo or Hayden win, it could get dicey, because Brit and Lane will go up against each other on the block and the Brigade might just toss Lane then. I’ll be avidly watching Sunday for HOH results (or I might cheat and go onto the BB website for a sneak peek).

So who’s your favorite at this point?

And might I say in closing, I WANT THE JURY HOUSE! Oh my god, that place is gorgeous and the swimming pool is to die for.
